Owners of holiday lets (excluding caravans, jurts and mobile holidays) will be obliged to have an Energy Performance Certificate from the 30th  June 2011.

Find a local energy assessor by performing a search in Google who will survey your property and supply a certificate showing a grading from A to G, a being most energy efficient.

The fee for this is minimal and will not make one iota of difference to holidaymakers but would prove useful if you eventually sell your holiday let.

Penalties for not having an ELC

You could be fined up to £200 per day if you do not have one.
