Sandpipers - tunstall, Suffolk



Sandpipers is a spacious 200 year old cottage on the edge of Tunstall, a quiet location close to the Heritage Coastline. With a king sized bed in bedroom 1 and twin beds in rooms 2 and 3 the cottage sleeps 6 people comfortably - a futon can be provided for a 7th person if needed.  

The large living room has an open fire and a view of the pretty front garden. There is a separate dining room and well equipped kitchen.  There are large enclosed mature gardens in front and back with off street parking in the front driveway. Visitors are welcome to help themselves to fresh herbs (and fruit in season) from the back garden.

The cottage offers great value and is available for short breaks; weekends and mid-week.

The accommodation is comfortable and winter heating is provided by a combination of an open fire, night storage heaters and electric panel heaters. TV, DVD player, radios and some games and books are provided and a washing machine (in a utility room ) Rentals are all inclusive of electricity and bedlinen. 

Sandpipers is perfectly located to explore this beautiful area and within easy reach of Snape, Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold, Dunwich, Walberswick , Woodbridge &  Sutton Hoo. There are many opportunities for walking: Tunstall and Rendlesham forests, by the river Alde and the marshes at Snape and by the coast at Orford, Aldeburgh and Dunwich.  The quiet country roads are ideal for cycling and  birdwatchers can enjoy the delights of Minsmere which is a only short drive away. 

The cottage is at the edge of the village which helps to create a quiet rural atmosphere. There is a pub, an art gallery with coffee shop and garage in the village and local shops are located a short drive away in adjacent villages. More extensive amenities are available close by in Wickham Market, Leiston, Aldeburgh Woodbridge etc.

High season rates apply only to summer and Christmas holidays, special offer reduction for half-term, Easter and bank holidays.

Good places to visit: Great days out by the sea at Southwold & Aldeburgh; Offord for coastal walks and a visit to the Castle; Walberswick for the best crabbing; the saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo, and Thorpness - an Edwardian seaside gem!

Good places to eat: Family dining at The Ship Inn at Blaxhall, The Plough Inn and The Golden Key in Snape, The King's Head in Orford. For the more sophisticated diner the Crown & Castle in Orford and the Crown in Snape.
