Caldertop Cottage - Preston, Lancashire

Set in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Caldertop Cottage is beautifully located for a holiday in Lancashire. The cottage adjoins the owners' farmhouse on a working sheep and stock rearing farm with spectacular views over open countryside. Higher Landskill Farm is a wonderful base for walkers and cyclists with several footpaths and cycle routes on the doorstep. The open rushy pastures are an ideal habitat for lapwings, curlews, snipe and oystercatchers which can all be observed from the bird hide on the farm.

The cottage sleeps 5 people and 1 baby and has a double bedroom, twin bedroom, single bedroom and a family bathroom. Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, cosy lounge with open fire, utility room and cloakroom. A cot and highchair are available. Bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are included. Outside there is an enclosed garden with garden furniture, barbecue, swings, slide and trampoline.

A 10 minute walk will take you to the pretty village of Calder Vale where there is a small shop and post office. Homemade refreshments are served in the village hall every Sunday afternoon during the month of May when the bluebells are flowering in the church wood. The market town of Garstang, the world's first fairtrade town, is 5 miles away. Here you will find supermarkets, banks, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Lake District National Park, Blackpool and the Yorkshire Dales are all within easy travelling distance.
